Activities on Dhigurah
Allow us a minute to explain how the excursions and all other activities at Bliss Dhigurah work!
From snorkeling with whale sharks to romantic dinners on the beach, fishing excursions and cooking classes.
If you can think about it, we can probably organize it for you! We operate our excursions on a flexible schedule. No prior reservation is required, our excursion guide will be happy to assist you once you are here with us.
Diving
The Maldives is one of the best places in the world to dive. But with so many islands and reefs, where do you go? How do you decide on which of the 1,192 islands? Easy!
Whale sharks!
South Ari atoll is the only atoll in the Maldives where whale sharks are spotted throughout the year. Over 400 “gentle giants” are spotted and registered in our area in South Ari Atoll. The sharks have an average length of 5.92 meters, which means the majority are juvenile.
If diving with whale sharks in the Maldives is on your bucket list, don’t wait any longer!
Other frequently spotted marine mega fauna include manta rays, turtles and dolphins.
Dhigurah is the most popular island in the atoll for tourism and well known for its beautiful woods and long stretched sandbank. It is one of the most popular islands among locals.
All in all, a paradise that shouldn’t be missed!

South Ari Atoll is a unique spot, sporting some of the highest wild encounters of whale sharks in the world! On a clear and calm day, it’s not uncommon to spot multiple whale sharks.
With snorkeling gear, you’ll be able to swim alongside these giants with ease.

Sandbank Picnic
Escape the island and enjoy the serenity and solitude of a sandbank for a few hours. Take out some snorkeling gear to explore the surrounding reef and have some refreshments in a beanbag under the umbrella.
Optional: Take away one of our Bliss-made picnic basket for a mouth watering lunch!

Fishing & Barbecue
For centuries, the Maldives was primarily a nation of fishermen. Experience the traditional fishing lifestyle by joining the inhabitants of Dhigurah on their fishing adventures. Catch your own snapper, barracuda, grouper or other fish and have it barbecued on our rooftop or the beach!
Non-motorized Sports
Sup & Canoe
Be one with the sea and explore the shoreline on a canoe or a standup paddleboard. You can make your way to the tip of the island or to a popular Manta Ray spot that’s nearby the Dhigurah shoreline. Feel free to pack your snorkeling gear and make your own adventure. Word of caution: Balancing on a standup paddle board may look easier than it is!
Culture through the Love of Food
Cooking Class
Love to dive a bit more into culture and local life? How better to do this than to cook with the local inhabitants of Dhigurah! We will organize a private cooking class for you with one of Dhigurah’s women and will translate for you. The actual cooking is done on the beach or on our rooftop. You’ll be able to pick the dishes you would like to learn, or let the ‘chef’ decide what’s on the menu for the day!

Dreaming of a wedding on a local island in the Maldives or to renew your vows? We can help you celebrate this special moment!
Although we cannot arrange a legal wedding ceremony in the Maldives, we can assist in celebrating (the renewal of) wedding vows. We are flexible and can arrange your special moment as per your wishes.

Private Beach Dinner
Around 7:00 PM, you will have a private romantic dinner on the beach (if the weather permits) – the chef will be preparing an exclusive a la carte meal.
That sums up our typical ceremony. We are of course happy to add any items to accommodate special requests. If you have something in mind, please don’t hesitate to ask and we’ll do our best to see if it can be done.
