Escape your daily life and enjoy the serenity and solitude of a sandbank on a remote island in the Indian ocean. Dhigurah, meaning ‘long island’, is nearly 5 kilometers long, of which about 3 kilometers bikini beach. Home to about 600 local inhabitants, hundreds of palm trees and hermit crabs, and some fruit bats.
The island is close enough to travel to from our capital, yet far enough for it to be overcrowded with tourists.
South Ari Atoll is a unique spot, sporting some of the highest wild encounters of whale sharks in the world! They are around throughout the year, and on a clear and calm day, it’s not uncommon to spot multiple whale sharks. With snorkeling gear, you’ll be able to swim alongside these giants with ease.
Manta rays, dolphins and turtles are other common marine animals that can be spotted in our area! No guarantees, but never a dull day!
Bliss is located on a local island. As opposed to resorts in the Maldives, where the whole island is turned into a resort, Dhigurah offers the opportunity to experience the local culture and customs of Maldivians.
For centuries, the Maldives was primarily a nation of fishermen. Experience the traditional fishing lifestyle by joining the inhabitants of Dhigurah on their fishing adventures. Catch your own snapper, barracuda, grouper or other fish and have it barbecued on our rooftop or the beach!

Our area is known for some of the best dive sites in the Maldives! Many of our guests visit us to either snorkel or scuba dive with the megafauna that is spotted on a daily basis.
We organize fishing trips, beach barbecues, romantic beach dinners, the renewal of wedding vows, water sports activities like wake boarding, jet-skiing and stand up paddle boarding.
Occasionally we host events, like cultural nights, yoga retreats and local or foreigner musicians.
