Geography
The Maldives, an island nation of about 400,000 inhabitants and 1192 islands, divided into 26 atolls (groups of islands). Our main industry used to be fishing and we still love fishing stories, going out fishing, and eating fish! Since recent years the tourism industry is blossoming! Resorts used to be the ‘standard’ in our country, but since 2011 local islands opened up for the development of guest houses. And so, the dream of Bliss was born.

In the Maldives
Dhigurah is located in South Ari Atoll (or locally known as ‘Alif Dhaalu’) a 20 minute flight or 2 hour speedboat drive from the capital city, Male’. In our local language, Dhivehi, the name of the island can be directly translated into ‘Long Island’ and has consequently the longest beach of the atoll. Its surrounding waters are known to be Whale Shark area. This ‘gentle giant’, in our area reaching up to 12 meters in length, can be encountered throughout the year. Only in South Ari Atoll!
